ABC: Iowa City picnic celebrates fathers and father figures

IOWA CITY, Iowa (KCRG) - A picnic hosted by a nonprofit celebrated all kinds of dads and father figures on Father’s Day.

Dream City hosted the Juneteenth & Father’s Day Family Picnic at Wetherby Park in Iowa City Sunday.

Dream City focuses on a number of things, including support for fathers.

Frederick Newell, the Executive Director of Dream City, knows exactly how crucial that support can be. He sorely missed it when he was a single dad at the age of 18.
