Dream City is a 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to strengthening families, transforming lives, and restoring hope. Through our programs in Youth Leadership, Community Development, and Wellness, we are committed to creating a brighter future. Though based on the southeast side of Iowa City, we proudly serve youth and families throughout Johnson County.

Our mission is to inspire and empower communities by fostering meaningful connections through advocacy, the arts, community development, and holistic wellness, driving transformative impact and lasting growth.
DREAM CITY PROGRAMS
Our Becoming & Achieving Momentum (BAM) Mentoring program is designed for boys in 5th through 11th grade, guiding them through adolescence with support, mentorship, and skill-building. The program includes life skills workshops covering time management, financial literacy, and ethical decision-making. Additionally, it offers academic tutoring, career exploration, and internship opportunities. . They will build strong relationships, gain valuable life and academic skills, boost their confidence, and understand the value of community involvement. We invite young men in 6th through 11th grade to sign up for the Brothers Achieving Manhood Mentoring Program.

This past April, we secured ownership of 611 in a strategic move towards ensuring financial sustainability and offering affordable commercial spaces, fostering a nurturing environment for entrepreneurs.

Our current renovation aims to transform our new building into a modern, energy-efficient epicenter. The blueprint includes a communal commercial kitchen, versatile micro-commercial and incubation areas, and a dynamic multi-use event space poised to host an array of programs and activities.
